The service
Research Radar compares your project description with published papers and labels new ones as threats, opportunities or noise. Labels are automated judgements meant to save you reading time; they can be wrong, and you remain responsible for your own literature review and claims of novelty. The same holds for the still-new score, which compares sentences, and for the reference check, which knows only the papers Radar holds for your research areas from the last 24 months.
Your content
You keep all rights to the abstracts and keywords you enter. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you. Do not submit material you are not allowed to share with a third-party service.
Datasets
Datasets you download from the Data page or the research datasets page come with a licence in their README: CC BY 4.0 for datasets built from public papers and for aggregates, and the data use agreement for the restricted author-label dataset. Your activity contributes to research datasets as described in the privacy policy unless you switch research sharing off.
Fair use
Don't use automated tools to create accounts, scans or dataset requests, and don't try to access other users' data. We may limit or close accounts that do.
Availability
We aim to keep Radar running and your weekly brief on time, but the service is provided as is, without guarantees. We may change features; we will tell users by email before removing anything they rely on.
Journal checks
The Journal Trust Checker reports factual checks: whether a site is listed as an official site of a journal in public registries, what the site states, what our automated checks found, and whether two people have confirmed that a site presents itself as a journal it does not belong to. It does not judge the quality of any journal, and a result is not legal advice. Automatic checks are marked "not yet verified" and are never published as flags. Anyone can dispute a result; disputed results are marked as such and decided by two verifiers within 72 hours. Do not use the service to harass a publisher, to file false reports or to impersonate a publisher; we limit and review reports and disputes and may close accounts that misuse them.
The API and the browser extension may be used within their rate limits and published terms. Confirmed clones are part of our research datasets under the data use agreement.
Paper data
Paper metadata comes from OpenAlex and arXiv under their own terms. Papers belong to their authors and publishers.
